Description:

A corn husk or Hoja de maiz para tamal is used to wrap food when steaming, such as tamales, and they are popular in Mexico and Latin America. These dried corn husks need to be hydrated in hot water for about half hour to soften them so they are easy to use. You can then wrap them around fish, stuffed parcels of cochinita pibil, or your favourite food.

PREPARATION AND USAGE: Corn husks can be used in a huge range of different Mexican recipes, but are always used to wrap food before steaming. They are essential for making fantastic tamales, or you can try it with fish, cochinita pibil parcels or other Mexican dishes.

Soak the dried corn husk in hot water for approximately half an hour. This rehydrates them so they can be used easily.
