The Mulato Chile is a dried poblano pepper with a mild to medium heat, which is regularly used in a variety of Mexican dishes. Roughly 4” long and 2” wide the Mulato chilli has flavours of chocolate and licorice, with a hint of cherry and tobacco.
Traditionally used to make Mole sauce, the Mulato chilli is part of the ‘holy trinity’ along with Ancho and Pasilla Chillies. Dark in colour and flat and wrinkled in texture, the Mulato chile is also commonly ground into chilli powder making it easy to add to a range of dishes. Shop our Mulato chillies.
