Also known as Mexican Tomato or Tomate de Fresadilla, these little guys grow abundantly fresh in Mexico. Surrounded by an inedible husk that gets discarded, they have a slightly tart, acidic flavour and when tinned, a delicate texture.

Whole green tomatillos from Mestizo Market are delicious and ready to be used in your favourite dishes. Tomatillos are a green fruit, very similar to tomatoes in shape and appearance when extracted from the green, leafy husk in which they grow. They are extremely popular in Mexico and Latin America. They have a tangy, acidic taste that works very well in salsa verde or enchiladas, among many other Mexican recipes!
Description:
When tinned, green tomatillos retain their delicious flavour but become delicate to handle. Use a slotted spoon to scoop them out from the tin.
Care: Once opened, use immediately or freeze in the brine.
